When You Leave a Bad Review and They Ban You: Qatar Airlines Strikes Back!

Review Party Dot Com has a YouTube channel, but we’re not what you’d call YouTubers. We also have a show, a blog, a website that are all very much based on reviews, but we’re also not exactly reviewers by trade (okay, white lie, Matt is a Yelp Elite and a Google Vine Voice). We’re just trying to say we aren’t the cloutiest clout wielders on the web.

Not like Josh Cahill; he’s what Google refers to as a vlogger. So. You know he’s the real deal.

Who is he? Well, in his own words:

I'm an Award-Winning Airline and Aviation YouTuber. I took over 185+ different airlines on over 650 flights in the past 6 years.

Sounds like the kind of guy you’d trust when it comes to planes and flights and all the nitty gritty details. A pro’s pro when it comes to flying.

Well not everyone likes a discerning eye like Josh’s…

After he posted a lukewarm review of a Qatar Airlines flight, featuring details like:

outdated planes, dirty cabins, unfriendly, and demotivated crew, and running out of food choices

the airline itself reached out to have him remove his video. When that failed, they asked him to remove negative comments on his video. And when that failed, they straight up canceled a future booking he had with the airline, citing their conditions of carriage, which gives them plenty of leeway in refusing service to whomever they choose to spite.

And spite they did.

Now we’ve written about local businesses fighting back against bad reviews, but this is a huge corporation acting so small.

Pretty lame if you ask us.
